For the 100th anniversary of Rainer Maria Rilke’s death in 2026, the international quartet AZOLIA sets his poetry to music—fragile, luminous, and full of resonance. Following their acclaimed program on Wilfred Owen, vocalist/composer Sophie Tassignon, saxophonist/clarinetist Susanne Folk, bass clarinetist/saxophonist Lothar Ohlmeier, and double bassist Andreas Waelti weave Rilke’s words into airy, interlacing textures of voice, reeds, and bass—intelligent, transparent, and deeply felt.
